German PreIntermediate Reader Super 1000 German Edition edition by Brian Smith Reference eBooks

This is just a review for the Kindle version. The formatting is very clunky, and you wind up reading two very narrow columns, German on one /English on the other, and it is very disorienting. Also, the columns can only fit a few words per line. If you turn the ebook to landscape mode, the formatting doesn't change/accommodate. Unlike the paper book, which has an entire section in German and then English, the Kindle version is barely readable in its current format. I wound up returning it and will order the paper book.

German PreIntermediate Reader Super 1000 German Edition edition by Brian Smith Reference eBooks Reviews

Has to be the best series of German readers out there and I've gone through quite a few. Couldn't disagree with the one reviewer's post more the kindle version is fantastic.
I am an American living in Germany. Everyone speaks to me in English. I have self-studied for a couple of years. This book with the downloaded audio significantly improved my German immediately. Reading and listening together just helped it click for me. Thanks! I hope they make more readers with audio like this book.
Brian Smith's readers are brilliant. I recommend them enthusiastically to anyone trying to learn German. In my view, reading them and listening to the free audio has done far more for my German than any textbook. And they are fun.
I have several of Brian Smith's German readers and have found all of them very beneficial. This one was excellent for me transitioning to an intermediate level; adding to my vocabulary, reinforcing my grammar, and sentence word order.
I highly recommend it .
first intermediate reader book that builds your vocabulary as you progress. if you are a beginner to German, get the Easy Reader first
This book helped me assess the level of my reading ability to date. It also boosted my confidence, which can suffer when struggling with an advanced book like Der Vorleser. I read from each book every day, and it gives me a sort of balance and sense of progress.
Absolutely fantastic, like the easy reader before it. I've literally spent thousands of dollars on various language learning programs in my life, ranging from self-study to small group instruction, and this is without a doubt the most effective. The progression of both vocabulary and grammatical complexity is perfect. And the thematic chapters that revolve around everyday scenarios is so much better than the incredibly contrived norm. I really wish there were more material like this available for other languages.
